2014
What-Who-Where-When-Why
When is a car show not a car show?
When it's not a car show... it's the White Knuckle Scramble!

What?
Motorized Mayhem!! That's WHAT!

  • Vintage Go Kart racing
  • Vintage Minibike racing
  • Mini vs. Kart drags
  • The White Knuckle Scramble is one of only 2 events in the USA that allows vintage go karts AND vintage minibikes to race! It is the only event of its kind in the Midwest.
  • Rules are HERE.
  • Kart races will be run 6:6:10… in other words, two heats of 6 laps and a final feature heat of 10 laps.
  • Minibikes will be run 5:5:7
  • Drags will be run as eliminations. Line up and go. Lose and you’re done.

Classes
Karts 1: Single engine, rear mounted
Karts 2: 2 or more engines, rear mounted
Karts 3: Sidewinders (side mounted engines)

Minibikes 1: Flatheads
Minibikes 2: Clones, modifieds

When?

Saturday, August 16, 2014!

Tentative schedule:
8-10: gates open, registration, tech inspection #1
10-12: Practice
12-12:30: Tech inspection #2
12:30 Drivers’ meeting, with racing to follow

When the racing is done, we will be able to do more practice runs with the track officials’ permission. We’ve been assured that you’d have to screw up royally to not get permission.

How Much?
All racers must purchase a Hot Grid/track pass ($13). After that, the cost is $30 per vehicle raced. For example, if you're racing one go kart, it will be $43 ($13 + $30) for the whole day. If you want to race 2 karts, or one kart and one minibike, it will be $73 ($13 + $30 + $30). This covers racing and practice laps ALL DAY!

If you just want to watch the races, you will purchase a "premises pass" for $5 which will grant you access to the grounds and race pits (but not the hot grid or track).

Where?
Concept Haulers Motor Speedway in Norway, IL (about 15 minutes from Morris, about an hour from Chicago). This is a great track with a nice concession stand!

There are some bleachers for watching the races, but you may want to bring your own chair and a sun umbrella.

Where can I stay?
Concept Haulers Motor Speedway allows overnight camping in the pits. If you need electric hook up will be $10, otherwise there is no charge to camp.
If you'd like the comforts of a hotel, there are many options in Morris, IL (about 15 minutes away).

Who?

Hellfish & Kansas,
Organizers of the Hunnert Car Pileup, Hunnert Car Heads Up Drags, and former Chrome Czars

Why?

Seriously? This is not a question.
